A group of 19 riders, helpers and parents/carers enjoyed a wonderful morning at George Scott's racing stables in Newmarket on 7 August. We split into two groups and were able to stroke the beautiful (and extremely valuable) horses and give them carrots and polos. We hope our lovely reliable cobs don’t get to hear how much we admired the these superb racehorses! We were also able to see the horse ‘spa’ where they can have their achy legs eased, and hear about their successes on the track.
We felt very privileged, so a huge thank you to George Scott, and especially to his right-hand woman, Alex, who give up time in her busy day to take us around and tell us about every horse.
We all loved the visit and the window it opened into a different world of horses.
